Description:
Max and Toby were surrendered by their owner who could no longer keep
them. Max is a 9 year old Westie male with skin problems. He
was being treated with a monthly steroid shot, some oral antibiotics and
Benedryl. He has recently lost some hair on his legs and chest as
the steroid shots are now wearing off more quickly. He is up to
date on Rabies and we will be bringing him up to date on all his other
boosters. He has been an indoor dog that was not kept on heartworm
preventative but he has tested heartworm negative.
Toby is a brindle Cairn about 4 years old in good health. He is
strongly bonded to Max. Toby is also heartworm negative and will
be brought up to date with his shots.
We took these two to see one of the rescue vets. Toby is in
pretty good shape only needing a good grooming. However, Max is in
pretty bad shape. He has yeast, skin and ear infections and he is
missing quite a bit of hair on his face, legs, tail, rear end, back and
stomach. He was put on a number of medications to start him down
the road to health and both he and Toby will be staying with one of our
Foster Families until that time. Because they are a bonded pair,
we would prefer to adopt them both to the same home.
Although they are not immediately available, would you consider
waiting for them and opening your heart to two?
UPDATE: The boys
are at their Foster Home and here is what their Foster Mom had to share
about them:
"The boys are doing great. They have learned our rules and
happily go with the flow around here. We still have the occasional
"accident" in the house but I'm talking a couple times a week
at most. Max's hair is starting to grow in and he looks even funnier
than before, it that is possible! :)
Just a thought on Toby, I think that anyone who takes him along
with Max will be happy that they did. He is a cutie and so lovable. Not
a problem in any way at all.
Here is a picture of Toby after his grooming, what a handsome fella!
UPDATE: We have been Adopted! We have found our Forever
Home. Here is our Adoption Picture:
