Description:
Quinn is a 6 month old male puppy up to date on all his shots and
heartworm medication. He was a very loved and spoiled little boy.
Unfortunately his mom developed some medical problems and could not keep
up with a puppy and her health issues. She tearfully surrendered
Quinn to WRNT so we might find him a new loving home.
Quinn came with all his records, a crate, a blanket, collar, leash,
heartworm medication and some toys! We have been told that he
sleeps in his crate at night and during the day when he takes his power
naps.
Quinn will be neutered and microchipped before he is adopted.
He is in a Foster Home with another Westie boy and they are, to quote
his foster mother, "Adjusting to each other, but still are deciding
which one is top dog. My boy has won their little spats so far,
but Quinn is holding his own." As you can see from his Intake
Picture to the left, he is a very playful boy!
UPDATE: Quinn has
been adopted! Quinn
has gone to his new forever home where he has a sister named Gracie who
was born just two days after he was so they will be celebrating their
birthdays every year together! Below is what his new dad had to say
about Quinn’s first nights in his new home:
"On
the ride home Saturday Quinn immediately calmed down and rode very
nicely. My wife held him to reassure him that everything was OK.
He reached over several times to smell me and even gave me a kiss as I
drove. When we got home, he hopped out on his leash like he had
always been there. We walked around for a few minutes to potty
when Gracie realized we were out front. Of course, she started
barking like crazy... so in the house we went. You could tell they
were happy to see each other. I was very surprised to see how calm
they were, just like they've known each other forever.
We
got his food bowl and water set up next to Gracie's. I gave them
both a chew bone. It was great to see them lying on the floor facing
each other chewing way. There were no issues over food or water. Quinn
had a happy look in his eyes.
At
bedtime we put his kennel in our room because we didn't want him
to feel he was alone. He "Kenneled Up" and took his
treat in a very gentle way. He nested his covers around and went
right to sleep. We never heard another peep out of him. Gracie
on the other hand was still somewhat excited and kept jumping off the
bed and checking on him. We had to put Gracie in her pen for the night,
which was OK with her because she sometimes sleeps there.
When
I woke up Sunday morning, he greeted me with a smile on his face.
He got out of his kennel and stretched just like Gracie does every
morning. Then it was wiggles and kisses. It was a good feeling to know
he was happy. He and Gracie went outside and took care of
business. It was a very good morning. They ate together,
drank together and played together, and not a hint of not getting along.
They were very funny with one of Gracie toys. They played tug a
war for over 20 minutes, each one of them on opposite ends of the toy,
both shaking it like old Terriers do. It
was great and fun to watch.
Quinn
has not been the least bit shy or timid. He's been right in the
middle of things, curious and eager to listen and learn. Between
the two of them it is impossible to tell if Gracie or Quinn
is the alpha. They play so well back and forth.
Sunday
evening we had two tired pups. Quinn fell asleep on the couch with
Susan, and Gracie was asleep in the recliner with me. When it was time
to go to bed, I picked them both up, one in each arm, and carried them
outside and told them it was time to potty.
They walked with me back to the grassy area just like they had
been doing it for years. They did their business and we went to
bed...Two perfect little dogs...!
Also
we are going to keep his name... Quinn is who we fell in love with, so
Quinn is who he is and Quinn is who he will be!
Thanks for bringing Quinn into our lives and family."
