Westie Rescue is pleased to find that perfect Forever Home for Roamie & Sophie.
As you can see by the original website listing, Roamie & Sophie come to Westie Rescue by chance - or divine intervention, whichever you prefer. One of our previous adopters, who was a wonderful Mom to another Westie who departed for the Rainbow Bridge, is now the loving parent to these two little imps. It just goes to show that once you have a Westie in your life, you're hooked forever!

Description:Roamie and Sophie are 4 1/2 year old Westies, littermates, who were surrendered to WRNT after their owner attempted to place them on a local electronic bulletin board. This wonderful pair came to us in a very roundabout way: One of our Directors was contacted when a Friend of WRNT noticed an ad for a pair of Westies, "To a Good Home" was placed. It's a very dicey thing, to offer dogs "Free to a Good Home" for several reasons, the worst of which is because unscrupulous people troll these listings to find dogs to be used as "bait" in dogfights or to sell to the medical testing industry. While we at WRNT are pragmatic enough to understand that medical tests sometimes require animals, we believe that dogs are far too intelligent and faithful to be so badly used. For those who would mislead a caring owner into surrendering a housepet into the awful world of dog-fighting, there are simply no words to describe how we feel. When Roamie & Sophie were brought to our attention, we immediately contacted their owner to arrange to assist in finding a suitable home, properly vetted and checked, to make sure these sweeties got the care their owner intended. Because of an impending move, Roamie & Sophie's family could no longer care for them and tried to take the right path and locate a suitable home for them. Fortunately, for Roamie & Sophie, WRNT had just completed an exhaustive search for qualified candidates to adopt a pair of Westies. As you can see below, Max & Milo were recently adopted - and in the completion of that adoption we received several excellent applications from wonderful people who wanted a pair of Westies. It's pretty rare to find so many great people who have room in their hearts and their homes for two wee bairns all at once! Well, this is one of those cases where we in Rescue have a great dog (or pair, as in this case!) come in the front door and go right back out. We didn't even have the opportunity to list Roamie & Sophie on the website before the perfect Forever Home was waiting for them. We call this "A Cautionary Tail" - which shows the primary reason to submit your Adoption Application now - because sometimes that "perfect pup" is adopted long before he or she is placed on the website........
