Westie Rescue of North Texas Places "Jaxy"

Sometimes a second chance is all you need!

January, 2007 --

Westie Rescue is pleased to find that perfect Forever Home for Jaxy.  It's often said that everyone deserves a second chance - and that certainly holds true for Jaxy.  Brought to us because of a bite, he has proven to be a delightful little guy.  All dogs will attempt to protect themselves when they're in an uncomfortable situation.  Unfortunately, they don't have the power to say "Leave me alone" - so they do it in the only way they know how: with their teeth.  That was how we viewed Jaxy's situation.  After working with the SPCA and his new Forever Mommy, we're confident he's got a wonderful life ahead of him - as the happy, funny, and affectionate little guy we know him to be.

Here's a picture of Jaxy with his new Forever Mom:

Description:

Jaxy comes to Westie Rescue from the McKinney SPCA.

A sweet and affectionate 16-pound, neutered male, Jaxy is 4 years-old and in good health.

Jaxy was surrendered as a result of a "provoked" biting incident.  Apparently, as we're told by Jaxy's prior owners, a child had taunted Jaxy who lashed out in the only way available to a dog: with a bite.  The staff at the SPCA tell us he's wonderful with people, good with other animals and a sweet little guy.

Since he's bitten a child, however, Westie Rescue is his last chance.  Normally, most highly adoptable dogs like Jaxy are quickly taken by the general public, with Rescue being the location of last resort.  Since Jaxy is branded as a "biter", he was ineligible for public adoption from the SPCA.

Fortunately, WRNT was able to find the right family for Jaxy almost as soon as he came into our Rescue program.  We hear from Jaxy's new Forever Family, that he's a wonderful little man and a genuine joy to have around.  It's rare that a dog who's been branded as "aggressive" is adopted so quickly, and by such a wonderful, caring and understanding Forever Family.  We're ever so thankful this situation has ended on such a positive note.
