(NOTE: Success Stories are written by our adoptive Forever Parents)
In November 2006, I agreed to foster Caitlin who badly needed a home with no other pets due to her female canine aggressive tendencies. Being a little skittish from losing my long term companion months earlier, I agreed to help Caitlin start a new life until we found her a permanent home.
We believe Caitlin was a dam from a puppy mill and came into the program months earlier with numerous health problems (skin infection, ear infections, heartworms, pneumonia, etc.) that were eventually resolved and she badly needed some serious attention since she was living in a house with four other Westies.
After Caitlin came into my house she quickly won me over with her winning Westie personality and serious need for love and compassion that she never received in life since now. Since Caitlin is now around 4 or 5 and never had time to be a puppy she is now settling in at her new forever home and is exploring everything that could be explored.
By the way, Caitlin who is now Kaitlin or Katie is now being treated like the puppy princess she was mean’t be and is being showered with toys, beds, love and kisses and is having the time of her life!
(Editor's Note: Kaitlin is such a little love monkey and is spoiled rotten in her new home. With good food, love and proper medication this little girl looks like a show dog - a far cry from her earliest pictures with Westie Rescue. You can read about Kaitlin's journey on her Placement Page.)
